DIY Photo Organising Podcast

In our Podcast, DIY Photo Organising, we talk about everything and anything to do with your photos. We began the podcast in 2018 after seeing a need, around the world, to help educate, inspire and motivate people to keep their photos safe…and organised.

We understand that technology changes, and, we all just keep taking more photos (which is a wonderful thing!). The problem is that people get overwhelmed, quickly, and those precious photos and memories can become a burden and source of stress. We are here to help you feel confident again with your photos.

Are you procrastinating about doing something with your photos? Have you EVER procrastinated about doing something with your photos? Join Fiona Staff and Chantal Imbach as they help guide you through the steps to stop procrastinating about your photos.

In this episode we talk about the results from the recent survey we conducted revealing what people procrastinate about regarding their photos, and why.

We found that people procrastinate mostly because they are:

  • Overwhelmed and don’t know where to start
  • Overwhelmed with the enormous task ahead
  • Overwhelmed because they don’t have enough knowledge to make confident decisions

Some of the other reasons include:

  • Abstract goals
  • Rewards that are far in the future
  • A disconnect from our future self
  • Feeling overwhelmed
  • Anxiety
  • Task aversion
  • Perfectionism
  • Fear of failure
  • Indecisiveness

We want to see you succeed in your projects and we believe understanding why you are procrastinating, and following clear steps to move through it, are key for your success.

How can we easily sort and organise our digital photos so we can later easily find them? Join Fiona Staff and Chantal Imbach as they answer this and other important questions.

Once we have gathered all photos it is time to sort and organise them. Before starting to move any photos though, we’ll run a backup and create a copy of the ‘mess’. In this episode, you receive a little gift: we have created an empty folder structure which you can download and use however you want to. But before you start moving photos into your new structure, you’ll de-duplicate (check out our links for software that help you do the job). This step is followed by a good declutter and by highlighting your favourite photos! Only then will you start moving your photos into the structure you chose.

Our gift to you: various empty folder structures to download from here.
